Your privacy, plainly stated

StayUnbothered.ai is operated by Kelly Burns, trading as StayUnbothered.ai (we, us, our), based in New Zealand.

When you create an account we store your email address and the name you choose to go by. As you use the app, we store your coaching conversations, your Power Scores, and a coaching summary that helps your coach remember your situation over time. That's it. We don't collect anything we don't need.

We use your personal information to provide you with AI coaching services, personalise your coaching experience over time, improve the product, communicate with you about your account, and comply with our legal obligations.

Your conversation content is processed by an AI model to generate coaching responses. No human at StayUnbothered.ai reads, reviews, or accesses your submitted conversations. The only circumstances in which a human would ever access your conversation data are: (a) if required by law or a valid order from a law enforcement or regulatory authority, or (b) to investigate a report of illegal content such as child sexual abuse material. We do not use your conversation content for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Your conversations are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic does not use API data to train their models and does not retain your conversations beyond 30 days for trust and safety purposes. Your workplace situations are not becoming training data for anyone's AI. You can read Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com.

Your data is stored with Supabase, a database provider whose servers are located in the United States. Your conversations are processed by Anthropic, also based in the United States. Both companies act as processors on our behalf. They hold your data for us but do not use it for their own purposes. This means the transfer is permitted under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not store your payment card details. That is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-compliant.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, everything goes including conversations, Power Scores, coaching history, and your profile. Permanently. We don't keep backups of deleted accounts.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request a correction to that information if it is wrong, and ask us to delete your account and all associated data.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes everything we hold about you. To request access to or correction of your data, email us at hello@stayunbothered.ai.

We will disclose your personal information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required by law or a valid legal order. Where we are legally permitted to do so, we will notify you before complying with such a request.

We are committed to child safety. If we become aware of any content on the platform that constitutes child sexual abuse material or poses an immediate risk to a child's safety, we will report it to the relevant authorities without delay, including the New Zealand Police and the Department of Internal Affairs.

If a privacy breach occurs that we believe has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner and affected users as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

We use minimal analytics to understand how the product is being used, covering page views and feature usage only. We never send conversation content to any analytics service. What you share with your coach stays between you and your coach.

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we will let you know by email before the changes take effect. The current version of this policy is always available at stayunbothered.ai/privacy.
